Aluminum Fillers

Freeman offers a wide range of aluminum fillers that are commonly used with epoxies and other tooling resins. Selection of the proper filler for specific applications is largely dependent on the particle size of the filler.

Aluminum fillers are used to reduce exotherm, increase casting thickness, and reduce shrinkage. The size of the filler used depends on the size of the tool and other specific requirements. The sizes, from smallest to largest, are:

Aluminum Sand (Granules) 0.006"-.040" (100-18 mesh)
Aluminum Spheres 0.020"-0.074" (30-10 mesh)
Aluminum Shot 0.125", 0.25", & 0.31" pellets
Aluminum Puffs 0.25" to 0.375" in diameter
